Ali Myers

MSc, RD

Ali has been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2014. Ali attended Georgia Southern University on a swimming scholarship and completed her BSc (Bachelor of Science) in Nutrition and a MSc (Masters of Science) in Kinesiology with an emphasis in sport nutrition. Ali’s comprehensive dietetic internship was completed with Capital Health in Halifax, NS. She has worked in both private and public health sectors focusing mainly on chronic disease management.

After becoming a Mom, family and women’s nutrition became a true passion for Ali and the focus of her continuing education. Whether you need support nourishing yourself for general health, feeding your babe for the first time, or working toward a specific health goal, Ali can guide you with a practical evidenced based approach.

When Ali is not working on Seed & Sprout she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys, running, and baking on those cold northern Alberta days.

  • Ali’s favourite meal: A family bbq meal in the Okanagan valley composed of fresh local produce and finishing with some sort of Chocolate dessert – the most nourishing component of the meal being the people.

  • Baking Staple: Oatmeal Banana Chocolate Chip muffins

  • Biggest Dietitian Myth: We eat healthy all the time - MYTH. Most days there is a conscious effort to have balanced, home cooked meals. However there are days that my diet consists of my toddlers scraps and chocolate chips from the pantry.

Amanda Strang

MHST, RD

Amanda has been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2017. Amanda completed her BSc in Foods and Nutrition at the University of Prince Edward Island then went on to complete a Masters of Health Studies degree from Athabasca University. Her comprehensive dietetic internship was completed across an array of sectors (private, community, food service and inpatient/outpatient care) in Newfoundland. Amanda has worked in inpatient, outpatient, as well as community supports and looks forward to her new adventure in private practice!

Amanda’s mission is to support her clients to meet their nutritional needs by developing healthy habits and curating a healthy relationship with food. Whether you need support with PCOS, fertility, general healthy eating, chronic disease management or another nutrition concern, Amanda can guide you with evidence to help meet your nutrition needs.

When Amanda is not working on Seed & Sprout, she enjoys traveling to find the best cafes and restaurants, creating new recipes in the kitchen and being in nature, preferably by a lake or ocean.

  • Amanda’s favourite meal: A charcuterie night enjoyed with some of her best friends and a side of Okanagan wine.

  • Baking Staple: Homemade granola! It is rare that I do not have a fresh batch of granola on the counter in my home.

  • Biggest Dietitian Myth: That we eat perfectly healthy all of the time. Sure, we strive for healthy meals and snacks the majority of the time. But Dietitians are humans too - convenience or fun foods often make an appearance in our diet.
